You Don’t Have to Color in the Whole Thing

Fully coloring in drawings can take a long time, and time can be in short supply when you’re sketchnoting!

One shortcut I learned is to outline a shape in the color of the object as well as in black. I touched on this in the section about drawing people, but here’s another example: If I drew an apple I might draw the outline in red instead of coloring in the whole thing. That shows the reader that it’s a red apple without taking the extra time that solid coloring would.
