If you aren’t sketchnoting presentations all day like me, what in the heck do you sketchnote? Here’s a list of some things that you can sketchnote:
- A TED or TEDx talk
- A news broadcast
- A documentary
- Talk radio interview
- Podcast
- Webinar
- Informational YouTube video
- Work or board meeting
- A chapter from a non-fiction book (audiobooks are great!) Below is a sketchnote summary of Brene Brown’s Braving the Wilderness book
- A short story
- A recipe
- A day of your vacation
When I started on my visual communication journey 10 years ago I barely knew how to draw. Even though I was really creative thoughout my whole life, I was great at drawing. Secret: I’ve never even taken an art class!
I vividly remember pulling out the paper 6 months after I had done my very first large graphic recording in a group and I was amazed at how much I remembered. That day was a pivotal moment in my life because I really experienced the power of visuals and how it can help you learn and remember information.

I’m a 100% visual learner. I had seen you in once or twice in webinars but didn’t know there was a human behind those amazing pictorial presentations. I’m watching SANS cloud sec exchange 2023 today and watching you draw live. I’d love to learn this skill bcoz pics mean a lot more to my brain and I love to doodle/draw. Been at it since I was 6. Who knew I can now combine my art love with my tech love lol. Signed up to your newsletter. PS: hello from an ex-Canadian from QC now living in USA. Even used to have brother in NS!
